First words, crawling, sitting,???

Happy March! It's funny to think that one year ago we were whining about morning sickness and bloating. Now here we are loving on those adorable babies!

Bella is 6 months old, up to 14 pounds (still a tiny baby) eating twice a day, starting to use a sippy cup, rolling and scooting around on the floor (no crawling yet), sitting up, sleeping through the night, and talking! I don't know if she knows what it means yet, but it started when she was crying. She would whine and say a-ma-ma. Now she says it whenever she wants me to pick her up. In the last week she also added baba and da not dada just DA!

Next Monday we start her swimming lessons and I'm pretty excited about that. I'll be sure to post a link to the youtube video once it's up.

I miss you all! If your on fb send me a pm and we can link up. That's where I post all of her pictures now rather than on medhelp.

I wouldn't  worry too much about it.. It may not have anything to do with mental development, and just be part of his little personality! Give him some time, if he's starting to copy grandpa, maybe this is the beginning. But he might just not want to copy other people -- who knows! Pay attention to how he plays, and read up on the cues for autism, if you're worried. You obviously know him better than I do.. But either way, pay attention, BUT enjoy your time with him and don't spoil it by trying to pin a label on why he isn't doing it yet. (:

my son is 6 months old, and does not imitate facial expressions or sounds. he has been cooing since he was 2 months, and babbles mamamamama and sometimes a b or p sound. but i keep reading that even as newborns if you make faces they will imitate you (tongue out, etc.). the only thing he JUST started doing is shaking his head back and forth when grandpa does it--sometimes. and of course smiling in response to my smile since he was about a month old. thoughts? otherwise, he's super social--eye contact, smily, laughs, loves to play, etc. physically advanced--sitting up and has been for a while, etc. i can't help worrying about autism.

Ahh I'm kinda jealous! I want Mickey to crawl so bad! I just love to watch babies crawl, its the cutest thing. Mickey likes to hold on to my shirt and stand up on my lap, or the bed, or whatever. He really enjoys standing up, and has even moved his feet as if he was walking... I don't think he'll be walking anytime soon, but I hope to see him begin to pull up on things! Its all so amazing, and very exciting!

He gets about 25 oz a day, but he just seems disinterested in the bottle period. I've tried only feeding him 1x a day for a few days, and he still acts like he doesn't care about the bottle. He'll wolf down an ounce or two, and then just keeps pulling away. He has a checkup Friday and I'm going to talk to my pediatrician and see what I need to do. He's definitely not going hungry...he'd let me know that. But I want to make sure he's getting the right amount of nutrition from the formula. Supposedly he is, according to the "norm" but sometimes it seems to me like he should want more. I'll talk to his doctor for my own peace of mind :)

I to scale back the food when it seems like she isn't getting enough formula. I have noticed that she hits these growth spurts every few weeks where all she does is eat, eat, eat, then sleep like crazy for a day or two after. After a growth spurt she doesn't seem as interested in the bottle so I don't give her as much baby food.

I was reading up on that and i think i came across something saying they should get between 25-40 ounces a day.  I only have the daycare give trinity baby food(cereal &fruit) at noon, and then i give her cereal and veggie at dinner time when we eat, bcuz if she gets it 3 times a day she will decrease how much milk she drinks, and like you said we cant take the formula away.    If you are concerned ask your pediatrician

I wish Mickey would chunk up a little bit, too.. He's working on it. I got the OK from my pediatrician to add some stage 2 foods to his diet, so I'm excited about that(: He's slowed down on his need to eat so much of the solid foods, which I'm actually glad about. He wasn't slowing down on his bottle feeding, but he was beginning to act disinterested, and we most certainly can't take the formula away!

I find myself wondering if he's getting as much formula as he should...but at the same time trying to trust myself. He's getting the same amount of formula he would if he wasn't eating baby food, so I shouldn't worry about it, but I can't seem to stop WORRYING!!

That's so cool. It sounds like they are all tracking along together, maybe some chunkier than others ;-) I LOVE fat babies! I wish Bella would put on another pound or two.

Little Ms Trinity is rolling over, sitting up and i think within 2weeks she will have the crawling down to a science, she babbles away, she is such a happy baby, she is always smiling, she does have a fiesty personality though. only word i think she said is Hi, i have that my baby can read and that s the first word on the dvd.

I took her in to dr today only bcuz she has this cough that bothers me, they gave me an inhaler for her.  she weighs 17lbs and 2oz and is 26 inches long, she is suppose to get shots next thursday but if she is not feeling better im going to hold off a week or two.  She eats solids twice a day but has not been interested in them since she is sick, so just formula and breastmilk for now.

glad to hear from you ladies

Mary is almost 6 months old.  She will be 6 months on March 10th.  And we have her appt. on that day for her shots!!!  Yuck!!!  I hate that part but at least I will be done until she turns a year!!!

She babbles away too.  She rolls over all the time so I really have to watch her now.  She grabs anything that she sees that she think she just MIGHT be able to get.  When DH is holding her and then has the remote in the other hand, she will swat at it.  Reminds me of a cat when they swat.  She will most certainly grab that remote too!  It's so funny.  She is just really sweet and has a very sweet personality :)  Why can't they stay that way :)??

I still only have her eating once a day but will begin to increase it within the next week or so.  I make all of her baby food and she really likes it!  I know it is really good for her and soooooooo much cheaper than buying it.  I wish I would have done this with all of them but oh well!

I don't know her weight right now, but she is plenty chunky, so I am sure she is just fine in that dept.!!

Good to hear from all of you!

Brandon is 5 months and 2 1/2 weeks. He will be 6 months March 16. He is babbling quite a bit but no words yet. He is still working on holding himself when he sits. He stays seated for a bit but then falls to the side. LOL. he is sleeping from 930pm thru 7pm. Lately thought he has been caming up at exactly 1:30am asking for milk. Not sure what's going on but I'm assuming it's a grows spurts. He is eating cereal in the am, lunch and gerber fruit in the afternoon. I cannot wait til he starts talking. =)

Mickey has also started a sippy cup (he's had it 3x, and done quite well), and is eating baby food in between bottles. He cries until I give him 2 containers....He is a good eater, but is on the small side as far as percentages go for weight AND height....But has the right weight for his height, and is healthy so that's what matters!

Mickey will be 6 months old on the 8th. On Feb 19th, he was 14 lbs 6 oz, and 24 and 3/4in long. He is sitting up, scooting (not crawling either), sleeping from about 930 pm until 7am, and is still babbling away! No words yet...only mama when he's crying... Although lately, a random 'da', 'ba', or 'ma' comes out, but it doesn't seem to be on purpose at all. I'm hoping since he can make the sounds though, he will soon start using them! I've been trying to get him to copy me, with not alot of success yet. He is really starting to explore his world and I LOVE this stage...they're so curious, and really starting to have personality, and I'm enjoying watching Mickey's unfold.

Hard to believe 6 months from now we'll all be planning/having first birthday parties! I've already been planning parts of it out....haha. I'm excited(:
