I was in the hospital a few weeks ago with elevated liver enzymes, to a dangerous level. I have since gotten out, and my regular doc told me I should have my gall bladder out soon, and I would not be a candidate for laproscopic surgery, but the GI doc told me I am. the surgery was yesterday and the laproscopic surgery took 1.5 hours they said with no complications. I was sent home 5 hours later, although I still had a lot of pain.
they gave me a scipt for oxycodone.
it has been a little more than 24 hours, and I have been taking the oxycodone (5mg) every 6 hours like i was told. I am feel much WORSE than before the surgery. it feels like all my stomach muscles are tearing, I have a cold and cough so I am in exruciating pain when i cough or sneeze...i cant sit or stand or lie down without a lot of pain, and i have a very hard time walking as well. I was told within a day or two I would be much better and I have been feelign worse...MUCH worse than before the surgery, and I have signifigant bruising in all four incision marks. My stomach and ribs and chest are all hot to the touch, and hurt like mad when i do touch the bandages.
I am not sure what to do about this....but I am afraid to move.
I was told to call the surgeron's office in a few days, but I am unsure if this is normal....
thank you for any advice you can give on the matter-
