Why Aren't People Talking About End Times Anymore?

Amen! In my personal opinion is because either they are living in sin! Or either they are scared of losing pew members! The book of revelations speaks about the lukewarm church! GOD wishes we where either hot or cold but not lukewarm! We as a church including me! Have gotten comfortable in our way of living! We think just because we've accepted Christ that's it but there's more to it than that! Once delivered it's up to us to go win souls into the kingdom that our call! No more no less! The lost need to know how to get saved just like we did! & no one is really talking about it anymore it's saad! Even in churches no one is doing alter calls anymore! Church please come back to ur 1st love;)

I think we should all go on a mission trip to Africa and see these people with nothing worshiping and praising God. It would surely humble us, wouldn't it!

Whoops, sorry that was so long! Our church does alter calls every Sunday after every service. You are right, all churches should be doing this! One of the traveling pastors who came back from Africa was saying the people of Africa know how to worship God! Once saved, they are so grateful to God, even though they usually have nothing.
We in America are spoiled. We are the riches nation in the world and need to be doing more to give to those in need because that is what the Lord told us to do.

I think we need more revivals, though, don't you! I always like Billy Graham because every revival he would do he'd urge people to come forward to accept Jesus and hundreds, if not thousands, of people would come forward. One of my friend's was saved at a Billy Graham revival. We need more people, more evangelists like him, that's for sure!

I really like my church but the pastor (and traveling pastors) doesn't necessarily talk about end times. I think he kind of leaves that up to us to do our own digging in the bible and study on our own.
He does do an excellent job of teaching the scriptures and reading from the bible. I always come away from there having learned something that day. He's an excellent teacher and loves the Lord and God's people. He says he prays over the church right before each sermon and prays for everyone who asks for prayer. It's a very large church but he remembers people and their situations.
We also have small groups who meet in homes around the city who do their own bible studies and can choose the topic they want to focus on so it might be more likely for me to find a small group talking on this subject.

I think our pastor focuses more on changes of the heart, things we need to work on (which is pretty important!) and this church does a lot of outreach, which I like.

I don't think it's because the pastor or leaders of the church don't believe we're in end times but I think we should always live as if we're in end times. There's still a lot of work to do.
The last two Sundays the pastor has talked about helping the orphans around the world. I like that they do a lot of outreach to places like Africa, Russia, and places around the world where poverty is killing people and they have no hope. We have to help give them hope, not only by taking care of their physical needs but also their spiritual needs and showing them God's love, which the church does. They feed them, help build wells for clean water, build churches and schools, and teach them about Jesus and how much He loves them. They have a real heart for the orphans and the pastor mentioned that God has a real heart for the orphans too.
Mathew 25: 31-46

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne,

and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me,

naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'

Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'

And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,

a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.'

Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?'

He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.'

And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

This shows the heart of God. He wants us to do His work while we have time here on earth and to reach out to the poor, the sick, the suffering and give them hope.
We have to show God's heart not only to our own city but around the world too.
The above scripture shows one of the last things Jesus says to the believers and non believers, is "What have you done for me by doing for the least of my brothers?"

I think our churches do need to preach God's word, not through fear, but to urge us to reach out to those around us because that is God's heart.
There's a lot to be done before He returns and He's leaving it up to us to get His work done.
