Hi,
I am newly diagnosed with periperhal neuopathy in my feet and legs but I think it is also in my hands. I just started on neurontin and it is helping. I am wondering about progression of the neuropathy . Mine seems to be changing fast. I have demylination andf axonal and I get these bee sting pains that I guess is the demylination. I have been taking a codliveroil/butter substance that I was told by one medical doctor contains the rudiments of what is needed by the myelin sheath. I wonder too about exercise. I have autonomic dysfunction as well and my BP drops with being on my feet. I am getting a stationary recumbent bike to use. Any advise or observations would be appreciated. Also my glucose is high normal. Marie
I have sever nerve damage in my hand and am I all sorts of medications but the one that makes the biggest difference is the Lyrica. I take the same dosage as you. It is the one med I make sure I NEVER go without. My heart goes out to those without insurance esp. b/c there is no generic for it. I would ask my Dr. if their is any local charity programs that they are aware of to help with the cost. Good luck and god bless! shawnee
Lyrica is an amazing drug. I tried every/any number of neuro drugs, none worked, or worked long enough. Lyrica does.
I have a neuropathy damage in my R foot from a construction accident. Also in my R hand from a "complex fracture" (a cracker) of my radius. Later the plate actually became an issue, and I had it removed. That caused a whole new pile of hand pain...
Lyrica keeps them 99.1% under control... yea even w/ insurance it's dam expensive, but wow does it work. couldn't live decently w/o it!
