MicroIsabella- OK so you keep saying them. Are you having twins?
I actually just read part of "what to expect when you're expecting" today as I sat for my 3 hour glucose test. I actually read the part about when to feel the baby move. They state in the book that baby starts to move around 7 weeks, however you will NOT feel those movements until 16 - 24 weeks, with the average where most people will feel them being between 18 and 22. I left the book in my car, otherwise I'd give you the page number. I am 16 weeks and every so often will feel a slight bubble popping type of sensation or a dragging across my lower tummy right under the belly button. I don't feel these movements every day by any means, just every once in awhile if I'm lying really on my back with a full belly. I am looking forward to the day that I feel more pronounced movements on a daily basis. I know he is doing well though as I rented a doppler and listen to him every night.
You'll feel them before you know it. And I can tell you it is the most amazing feeling the first time you realize what it is. When you can feel them all the time, it gives you such a feeling of relief, knowing they are all right. I can't imagine what you'll be feeling with two acrobats! Congratulations on you upcoming 12 week mark!
Really? OMG! I was under the impression that I should have feel them by now. How silly ;) Thanks for the clarification now I feel more at ease!
Funny! I actually loved that book with my DS and bought the updated version with this one. I don't know anyone who hasn't read it and liked it. I guess it's what each one likes. BTW, it doesn't say you can feel a baby move at 9-13 weeks. It says they are moving, but you can't feel it yet.
girl get a different book!! lol that book is horrible, everyone I know that has read it hated it. Not sure what its called but out of the 10 or so books I bought the 1st time around I loved this 1 that had a week by week thing, I am sure if you go to the bookstore or library you coudl find it.
Yes, definitely I'll be going to one of those places. (I wanted to already go ;) But yes, I have to learn to be patient. Thanks!
I'm reading "What to expect when you are expecting". It's kinda confusing the way they lay out things but has a lot of stuff I didn't know.
Are you reading anything?
since I was pregnant before I can say I did not feel anything with my daughter until 17 weeks. Dr said that was 100% normal. The sex of the baby is very hard to see until at least 15 weeks but even then its better to see between 18-20. As erinbeth said that ultrasound is not to see the sex its to see if the baby is healthy. They will tell you if they can see but since its not a priority they wont try that hard....we went to UC which is a 3d u/s at 26 weeks with my first and that was cool.Since you pay and are basically going for fun and its not for health reason you can see the baby move and what not, they will show you the sex.
I have also read that you won't feel movements until 18-20 weeks and same for the sex. You do know that the u/s at 20 weeks or so isn't really to determine the sex of the baby. That can be a part of the u/s, but that is not the sole reason for the appt. It is mainly to look at the nucal fold and also to see the amount of amniotic fluid and other things.
Don't get your hopes up to see the sex, b/c they may not be able to be determined b/c of positioning and other factors.
What book are you reading? I have never read in any book any of those things...
From what I read, the babies are making movements now, but you won't be able to feel them to about 16-20 weeks. Also, 20 weeks is usually the standard to get an u/s to determine the sex.
