Yeah, glad is all good Jem-
I have only gained 4lbs so far. With Mady I totaled 50lbs. But it was mostly belly. ANother reason I think this is a boy!!! I have a huge sweat tooth this time too......
Oh boy... I gained exactly 40 lbs!!!! I think I was up about 7-10 by the end of my 1st trimester. I have vowed to watch the quantity of food I consume more carefully next time :) It was just soo much fun to eat! haha
Congrats Jem! What great news! Hey, does that mean that you will get to know the sex of your baby earlier (from the genetic testing)?
I don't know why, but I always put on the most weight in my first trimester. It's like my body realizes I am prego and immediately packs on the pounds. I spend the rest of the pregnancy trying not to getting bigger. :) With Mark, I gained 12-15 lbs by the end of the first trimester. Total weight gain was 25lbs.
With Phin I gained so much..55lb total. Partly due to the infertility/IVF drugs and partly due to an excess of eating ^_^
Oh - I forgot to update! Things look great. Dr said less than 5% of a miscarriage now, phew! baby is measuring 9 weeks. Now I have a few weeks before genetic testing and my 12 week u/s.....wait wait wait.
Oh speaking of weight, I think i am up 1 lb. I think with Hayden I was up 13 lbs in 13 weeks -- oops! I hope I am on a better track this time. Anyone remember their first tri weight gains with March babes?
Yes Jem... good luck! Keeping my fingers double crossed for you ;)
Good Luck Jem, keep us posted excited to hear your results!!!!
Whitneylauren - I had to laugh at your "monster discription" - I can just picture Mark trying to ride the dogs!
Hayden is totally rebelling at bedtime. She loves her 1pm daily nap but evening bed time? Not so much. She wants to be hanging with us. We had a few rough nights this week but had her cry it out and seems like we are back on track.
She is full of animation. Screams will glee at so much - I crack up when she gets so excited that she clenches her fist and SCREECHES. she usually does this with our neighbors dog when he is hyper.
No signs of interest at all with potty training. Oh and ovaz, I got a smack in my facce last week in the parking lot of the grocery store. I asked for a kiss and bent in and got wacked. Lovely.
UGGG, now AFM, I have an ultrasound today with Drew. I should be about 8 weeks, and I am a bottle of nerves. I think everything is fine but that one missed miscarriage has completely screwed my trust that everything is 100% ok. Wish me luck, will report back later.
Kele that is great news on the glucose! And, you are sooo close to be done with this pregnancy :)
Nothing really new here... Leighton's speech is growing by leaps and bounds daily as well. She has also started putting 2-3 words together, but not consistently. Although, she does say the same thing as Mark, "Mommy, side, side pease." Cracks me up every time to hear this little voice talking. Incredible how last year at this time we were trying to teach her how to hold her own bottle and now we are teaching her words! Amazing how fast these little guys learn!
I am having an incredible time controling my "little pistol" of a child. She really tests the limits and boundaries that are set and if she doesn't get her way it is an all out brawl. She tries to bite me (the lastest was on the face at story hour at the library, which we subsequently left from because of her behavior), pinch me, hit me, screams at the top of her lungs, shakes her finger at me telling me "No", etc. I keep asking my friends "Am I destined to have a rebel child?" They laugh and tell me this stage doesn't last forever, but that Leighton is definitely a challenge :) My mother reminds me daily that it is payback... for what? Apparently I wasn't an angel when I was younger ;P
AFM: We are still hot as heck over here in the desert (still at 100+ degrees) so it is hard for me to be even thinking about Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas at this point. To get myself in the spirit of things, I have been lighting "Fall scented" candles to remind me that the first day of autumn IS actually this week and not 3 months from now! lol And, as far as pregnancy goes... same ol ol... not really trying but not preventing either :)
LOL Kele... you are too funny. Sometimes I feel like walking around the house with ear plugs in so I don't hear the boys screaming anymore :)
Mark is a MONSTER! He climbs on the counter tops, tries to flush various objects down our toilets, uses our dogs as horses, and is not afraid to fight back with his 5 (almost 6) year old brother. This child is giving me gray hair.
He loves to help me around the house. Mark likes to clean, vaccum and he will put dirty clothes in the laundry basket. He is so darn proud of himself.
Mark talks all the time. He consistently uses two and three word sentences; ie- Mom hug, Nice dog, and Mommy side pease. His ability to pick up and learn new words amazes me, but maybe that is only because it has been such a battle to get Micah to speak properly.
Speaking of Micah I worry about how he is going to handle life once Mark passes him in development. Mark has already mastered many skills that took Micah years to learn. Micah will learn, eventually, but everything takes so much longer for him... it is a struggle. My heart aches for him.
We are thinking about having my IUD removed next month, but I still waffle a bit on making that decision. It was a really difficult adjustment for me when Mark was born. I was not prepared for the amounts of time and energy I would really need to adequately take care of both boys. That, coupled with a little PPD made the first months of Mark's life quite stressful for me. My heart yearns for another baby, but my head doesn't :P
Wow Kele you are getting soooo close. I am a bit jealous. That is awesome you got to see Zach again and everything seems great! 10 more weeks!
Mady is doing really well. SHe has transitioned to the babysitter she didn't even cry this am when I passed her off. Sad but good it the same way. She has been on one nap for some time, she is although jumping around at length. The sitter has got her sleeping in the playpen but we are working on making it longer.
Mady is talking up a storm and now we are actually getting real words. It is really amzaing. She loves saying Roxy her dogs name now too, she will call her from across the house.
Halloween costume has changed Mady is going to be Minnie Mouse. She has a stuffed Minnie and MIchey and will never put them down, so we found a costume at the disney store and she LOVES it.
AFM- 13 weeks and counting. Everythig is right on track and I am feeling pretty good. I can't wait for the gender ultrasound. I think boy but we shall see. We are totally at a lose for names though, Kevin likes Chase and I am on the fence, any suggestions????? I really like Brody but he isnt a huge fan.
