I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. Basically it sums up how to know if you are a Christian. If you get a chance, read it all--slowly, I would be interested to hear what different ones get out of it.
chapter 4
Dont believe every spirit out there--test them to see if they are from God.
The way to know is if they confess Jesus Christ is from God.
We are to love eachother because God is love. If we dont love we dont know God.
God proved his love by sending his Son Jesus. Noone can see God but they will see God when they see us loving others. God is love and whoever dwells inm love dwells in God and God in him. Heres how our love is made perfect that we can have boldness in the day of judgment--BECAUSE AS HE IS SO ARE WE (love)
Gods commandment is that whoever loves God, must love others.
5. This whole chapter I cant just sum up --it has some interesting things---in fact I would be interested in hearing someones opinion on verse 16.

Well, I will just share what I got out of it because I just love it and got so much.
Chapter 1.-
There is no darkness in God, therefore if we say we fellowship with him, but we walk in darkness, then we are lying. If we walk in light, then we will have fellowship with eachother. If we say we dont sin, we are lying to ourselves. If we confess our sins though, Jesus will forgive us.
Chapter 2-
We are not to sin, but if we do, we have and advocate with teh father, Jesus. Jesus is not just for us, he is for everyone.
We can be sure we know God if we keep his commandments. If we dont keep his commandments, then we do not know him.
If we keep Gods wrod, then Gods love will be perfected in us.
We are to walk as Jesus walked. If we think we are walking in the light but we hate others, then we are actually in darkness.
We are not to love the world or the things in it, because what the world offers is
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, and these are not things from God. If we love the world and what it offers, we dont have the love of God in us.
If we profess to be Christians we will not deny Jesus, because God the Father and Son are one. If we belong to Jesus, then we can be sure of eternal life. If we belong to Jesus we have the Holy Spirit who will teach us truth. We must abide in him so that when he comes we can have confidence. Since he is righteous, if we belong to him, we will live righteously.

If we ablide in Jesus we will not walk in sin.Sin is from the devil, and Jesus came to
destroy the works of the devil.
We are to do righteousness and we MUST love others. We know we are saved when
we LOVE. (14). Hatred is as murder and if we hate, we are not born again. If we see
someone in need and we ignore it, that is not love. We are to love by our actions.
When we are walking in love our hearts will not condemn us, and even if we did feel
condemnation God is greater than that knows us.
If we are walking in love, and acting in love, then we can have confidence we belong to God and we can rest assured that whatever we ask of him we will receive because we re keeping his commandments. The commandments he gives us are to believe on the name of Jesus Christ his Son and to love one another. If we keep these commandments we are dwelling in him and he in us and the Spirit will help us to know He abides in us.
