im in a group of 5 girls + me and were the best of friends, sept one of them, we think is anoreix, in one of my classes some of us Google, it and try to read up on it,
and she has most of the symptoms.
-shes always cold,
-she never eats,
-she counts calories
-she talks about how shes going to go home and make food for her mom/dad
-she hunches over, like shes conserving body heat
and the last thing is that shes lost 20 pounds in the last 3.5 -4 months
we are all very worried and we talked to the gym teachers and her other teachers and they are starting to notice they symptoms now to.
were very worried and we dont know what to do, do we confront her? not to?

Yes, the best way to voice concerns of an eating disorder to a close friend, is to approach them in a safe, loving environment. Express your concern in a non hostile or confrontational matter, rather, voice that it is coming from a place of concern and love. If this doesn't work, it might be a good idea to get the school counselor, teachers, or her parents involved if you feel it is safe for her wellbeing to do so. The Bella Vita website has a free eating disorder survey that may help her to determine whether or not she has an eating disorder. If she feels shes ready for help, she can give our 24/7 intake a call at 818.585.1775.

Good Luck!

I'm glad that you are concerned about your friend, you're a good friend! :) I think that maybe you should talk to your mom or her mom about it, and talk to her. I don't have much experience with this since I'm usually the one picked on by my friends about being anorexic (which I am not) but it's good that you care so much about her and want to help her.
