So I've gained 50lbs from a size 6 :(

Anyone else gain more than they "should".  I had NO nausea, not one day, and this is the punishment.  Lots of hunger though!  I'm somewhat active and try to do alot of housework to make up for my lack of straight up exercise.  I work at a desk job though.  This is my first baby at 35 yo.  My OB didn't have any concerns until this last visit, where I had gained 7lbs over Thanksgiving!  They said if I could stop my weight gain here, it would be ideal.  How am I supposed to stop the weight gain if the baby's supposed to put on about a half pound a week??  Anyway, would like to hear some similar stories if you have any, preferably with "I lost it all after the baby" at the end LOL, but don't lie to me:0)

Mmmkay... maybe I was retaining too much fluid last week, because now scale says I lost 6 lbs in 5 days.  Not the first time this has happened, I had a huge 10lb jump one time and then it went back down.  My body is weird lol.

I was doing great for a while... even lost weight at the beginning.  At my 30 week appointment my doc was surprised that I had only gained 13 lbs.  Well, I guess I let loose a bit too much since then... I have gained TWENTY pounds in the two months since! Yeesh!  So that puts me at 33lbs at 38 weeks pg :o(  I am still doing better than I was with my last two pregnancies by about ten less pounds... but I had also had both of them by 37 weeks.  So, I am still going and trying not to gain much more in these last weeks (or days!)

I've gained 37 lbs so far, my dr told me to watch my carbs, but doesn't seem worried. This is my 2nd preg, my first I gained about this much too. But that was 7 years ago and I started out 20 lbs lighter the first time. I also carry a lot of fluid. But this baby seems healthier than my first, my first was small for gestational age, had heartrate problems and not so good nonstress tests, but this one is doing great according to doctor. But I still get nervous having to weigh in, lol. And I'm sure it won't be too easy to lose, especially since delivery will be in the middle of winter. I'm sure jealous of the women who stay thin everywhere except belly!!

This is my first pregnancy as well and i've gained about 40 lbs so far. Thats if i'm going off my weight from my first OB appt since i hadnt checked for over a month before i actually got pregnant. My LMP is april 7th and i checked sometime in feb and weighed 105-110lbs at 5'3. (which would put me in the underweight category, barely) but i'm pretty sure i was a pretty firm 110 and i now weigh 148 lbs at my last appt (34 weeks) My doc seemed concerned about how fast i was gaining weight at my appt before thanksgiving and then after thanksgiving she said i'd done really well for it being over thanksgiving! even thought i'd gained like 5-6 lbs in 2 weeks haha.  If your OB doesnt seem concerned i wouldnt worry about it at all.

I may not be a good example... but I thought I would share. Weight is never a fun topic nor is it easy to lose!

I lost 40pounds before my 1st pregnancy.. gained back 30- but was right back at 40 after he was born, cause my c-section cause horrible recovery and I couldnt get to exercise very soon after the surgery.
Pregnancy 1: Boy, pre-weight 207 - post 247, 6lbs 14oz, born at 40weeks 6days

This pregnancy however is even more weird. I am technically right now 20lbs heavier than the last pregnancy, but have only LOST weight... no gain what so ever so far. I am -6 for the whole pregnancy and have 3.5 weeks left. I technically should be gaining due to the baby growing.. but I have nothing on the scale to show for it- only a huge belly.
Pregnancy 2: Girl, pre-weight 272 - Current 266, almost 37weeks and counting

I know alot has to do with body type and size, but my body has just been weird for this pregnancy- I am pushed to the max on how much room she has left and yet still have time to go. Scared she is going to be big and also scared that she wont fit for my VBAC.

Good luck to you and d-day!! I'd like to say that all the weight will all go away- but mine never did and I dont know what will come of this pregnancy. Some people are blessed with it and others- not so much!!
