41 weeks pregnant...

...and no signs of labor. I am so swollen I can barely type this message. Otherwise, nothing: no contractions, no pelvic pressure, no dilation, no effacement. Either this baby is going to come suddenly and quickly, or I am going to be facing tons of pitocin. Yuck!

I am so torn. I don't want to be induced. But I also don't want to risk problems with the baby by waiting too long. I am starting to feel anxious, rather than impatient. What if I get an infection? What if the baby is too big and things go awry during labor? From what I've read, 41 weeks is not a huge concern, but going past 42 can be a slippery slope. And I know my OB would prefer to wait until 43 weeks before inducing. Imagine if I lost the baby after all this?

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

i thought i was headed there, but then went into a very hard and very fast labor.  went to the birth center and was sent home because i was still only 1 cm.  got home, my water broke, we drove back and i was 5cm already and fully 10 cm 9 hours later.
so i wouldn't worry too much until you hit 42 weeks
