I am the happiest girl alive!!!

Introducing Zoe Madeleine! My beautiful daughter arrived at 12:29am on 1/4, weighed 7lbs 14oz and is 21 inches long. It hasn't even been 24 hours and she's already feeding from both breasts. I  so darn lucky!

The delivery, unfortunately, sucked. I went to a routine OB appt on Monday (41 weeks 3 days), at which time they discovered I was 5cm dilated, 85% effaced and contracting every 6 minutes. Since I was 10 days post due date, they sent me to the hospital and started pitocin. Unfortunately, the baby's heartrate kept dropping, while things kind of stalled out in my labor. After12 hours i was fully dilated and crowning, but i wound up  pushing for hours with nothing except consistent dips in the baby's heartrate. So they ended up whisking me in for an emergency c-section. It was a race against time with the baby's heartrate dropping. We were beyond scared until we heard, "Congrats, it's a girl and she is fine." and now of course I have that gruesome recovery.

Anyway, that leaves you, Caralea!!

That sounds all too much like my first baby... Glad you had her finally and CONGRATS.

Well ladies- I knew it, I was the last Dec baby to go... I went to see my Midwife today and we're scheduled for a c-section 1/7/11 @ 11am.

I have not dilated any further, her head is still high and hasnt dropped. My weight gain is still in the negative though. Baby's HR 144, BP normal and everything else healthy.

Cant wait to meet my baby girl- just ***** that we made it this far and still wasnt able to have a natural child birth.

**To top it all off we also found out today that my husbands Grandpa who has been in the hospital all week, has a sever case of colon cancer and will be having surgery on Friday as well- I convinced my Midwife to switch me hospitals so we could all be close and my husband can be there for his family as well.

Things sure dont end the way you had planned, but this way- I know I finally will get to meet her and all of my family will be there for me!!!

congrats!
and man another birth that went not the way we had hoped. the only reason i was given the 5 hours to push out is because my midwife was still my attending and she never had any drops in her heartrate through the whole process.  the surgeon was in the building and ready to take her by section if she had any issues.  but it's so worth it in the end regardless.
