Contractions - Hope I'll last till Jan 11th

Here's an update:

I'm scheduled for an elective C-Sx on Tuesday 1/11/11 since the baby is still breech (due date 1/15/11).  I've had BH contractions for several weeks, but started to have real contractions that started yesterday - every 6-8 minutes, no matter what I did (resting, walking, drinking, eating, etc).  Finally after 8 hours of this, I went to L&D to get checked out.  Cervix closed and high.  Contractions eased, baby doing well, was sent home.

Of course once I got home, they came back with twice as much force, I lost my mucus plug, and started to leak amniotic fluid.  Luckily after 4 hours of this, they eased up again, and I was able to get some rest.

I really don't want to go into active labor before my scheduled c-sx - I'm more looking forward to a more controlled planned environment, vs an emergent c-sx with the "on-call" OB doc (vs my own OB doc).

Hopefully my body will just "hibernate" for the next several days, that I will stop leaking fluid, and that I can have a relaxed planned C-Sx (unless of course he decides to turn on his own :)

Any updates from others??

My goodness, I am soo ready for my little girl to get here! I am so tired, cranky, swollen, sore, stuffy... everything adding up to MISERABLE. My backaches have been pretty constant, my nose has had this thick discharge for what seems like forever. Saturday I was so busy running around everywhere, by that night I was SURE I was headed for L&D my contractions were getting closer together and more painful, but alas they slowed down and went away. I'm not sure if I lost my plug yet, DH and I DTD on Saturday and when I went to sleep I woke up in the middle of the night and there was a thick (tmi) discharge where I was laying, and I dunno if it was us, or my plug?

Yesterday the contractions were so sporadic, I'd have 3 in a 20 min time frame, then none for 4 hours. I have a feeling that I have entered my early stage of labor, and could be doomed to be in it for the next several days. I have an appt with my midwife on Weds, I'm HOPING that she will tell me I'm ready to have my baby, because I'm definitely tired of feeling like this.

I hope the baby waits if that is what will make you more comfortable. An emergency c-section does sound highly stressful.

I'm due the 25th. I have been feeling very uncomfortable. I lost my plug mostly Friday night and have had some more of come out in the last 24 hours. Last night I was contracting but only 8-10minutes apart. It was getting late and I was tired. So, I took a warm bath and had 1/2 a glass of wine. They stopped hurting and slowed down ...so I was able to sleep. This morning I felt really icky and exhausted. My husband and I just took a walk and I really felt like I would just POP any second. Now I'm even more exhausted. Contracting again but haven't been timing them. I have dull back pain too. The thing that really ***** is we are about to get snow and my birthing center is 1/2 an hour away. Hoping to make it through another week.

You should probably give someone a call if you're leaking amniotic fluid. They need to keep an eye on that.
Good Luck
