I was diagnosed IC in August 2010.  The Uro stretched my bladder and took biopsy's.  I also have kidney stones at the moment one in the bladder.  My family doc has checked my urine just about every 2 weeks since xmas 2010. I have stayed dehydrated so much.  I am having alot of pressure to go and pain that it wakes me up.  I never can sleep more than 2 hours and thats when I first go to sleep. Then its every hour.  I am not kidding or lying.  I can't stand this any longer.  My family doc gave me some pain meds on account of the stones.  No infection. He has at least gave me that.  The Uro acts like my IC and stones are no big deal, yet he said the IC was very severe.  The stones a small enough to pass.  I have passed 3 before.  In the last 7 years.  I feel helpless with this IC. I've tried the diet and not drinking after 7pm.  That only made me dehydrated.  My family doc can do IV's in his office now. PLEASE HELP if you can.  I live in Chattanooga Tennessee.

I have IC, with Hunners for quite a long time now. Try changing the water you drink, it was the only thing in my diet I didnt change. I know its stupid as we don't want to drink thinking it will stop us weeing so much but really drinking flushes out the things that have irritated our bladders and can help prevent the Kidney stones. Do you know what type of Kindey stones you have?
I also have kidney stones, have had a few trapped near and in Urethra. Makes things a lot worse.
IC is a big deal and IC and Kidney stones is a bigger deal. Keep pushing till you find a Urologist that is worthy of your time. If you get a kidney stone that is too big to pass through the Urethra it can tear and permanently damage your tube. Ive had one stuck and it wasnt pretty.
Do you have Hunners Ulcer as well? I get mine burnt off every 3/4 months when I have a Hydro/Cysto. It really helps me but not everyone. The IC diet helps, theres so many things that I was eating/drinking that I didnt realise were upsetting me. Medications and OTC drugs and Vitamins. I can share whatever I have learnt along the way with you if you need support.
Please dont stop drinking water though, buy bottled or a water purifier if you need too. I spent months limiting my water intake and it made things so much worse.

how was u diagnosed with IC only all the pain your talking about i have i walk like a 90 year old lady when i get out of bed in the morning's  coz of the pain and now im having pain all the time in my back and belly every time i go to the doctors im told i have a UTI again ive had over 15 in only 8month's this week i was told i had blood in my wee and no infection i just keep getting put on pill for the infection.
after reading all about this i think i may have this IC but i cant get my doctor to see that its more then just UTI that ive got..
what was all your symptoms?????
so i may go back to the doctors again!!!!!!!
