If you check this forum ever so often....

We need more people here! If you check in and notice that there are not a lot of recent posts, feel free to change that. I do check here often and would like to help anyone that needs advice, answers etc. I will try my best to get this forum to grow so that more women feel comfortable to post and receive help. There are a lot of women from other forums checking in and out of here as well. I just want to make sure everyone feels like they have a chance in their own forum for their babies! Congratulations to anyone having a baby in September and I hope that we get some new faces -so to speak- in here! :)

I tested positive for strep b for my first prenancy.  They don't even bother to test again, they just give antibiotics for any other labors. Many places don't perform the test at all unless they judge you a high risk.  I was tested when I was pregnant with my first, but I lived on Ft. Carson in Colorado.  When I moved back home to Mass, they don't (or didn't at the time) routinely perform that test.  I told my doctor I was positvie before and she just put a bright sticker on my chart indicating the need for antibiotics during delivery.  I would ask about it.  It isn't a big deal during labor like Nini2686 said.  Just an iv.

I tested positive for strep b in my last pregnancy and I had to have a IV with antibiotics during labor. It really wasn't a big deal. My doctor said alot of women he sees has this and there isn't anything you can do to not have it or have it. I think around 36 weeks my doctor performs this test so we'll see how I test this time.

I looked up the strep test and all I seen was this:

Group B streptococcus screening: Vaginal and rectal swabs are taken at 35 to 37 weeks of pregnancy to detect group B strep bacteria. Although group B strep can be present in up to 30% of all healthy women, it's the leading cause of life-threatening infections in newborns and can also cause mental retardation, impaired vision, and hearing loss. Women who test positive are treated with antibiotics during delivery to protect the baby from contracting the infection at birth. As an alternative, your physician or midwife may choose not to test for strep but to treat you in labor if certain risk factors develop.

So if that's the case, OMG LOL

You know, I was wondering what the strep test was, too. I haven't had that mentioned to me yet but on the 11th, we will see if my little one is measuring right or if theres a problem. I will most likely pee myself if they tell me I'll have my son early. I mean after all of the dreams and thinking I'm going to into labor by 33-36 weeks Lol...I'll be 30 weeks Friday. So your just couple days ahead of me :)
Last night I was up until 3 am. He wouldn't be still for anything. Well one of the times he moved, It felt like I could literally pick him up out of my belly and hold him. It made me so happy to know I'm getting close. I cannot wait!!!

As for my nesting, ugh. It's gotten so much worse. Even when I'm dog tired I'm fighting to clean and organize. I don't know why I have to have everything spotless or just right. I mean it has gotten BAD. I forced myself to take a break yesterday. I had to. Day before yesterday I was swollen in the feet and legs from standing and cleaning so much. I don't even know how I find things to do as often as I'm cleaning, organizing, washing clothes, dusting, and still trying to manage my sanity! LOL

One of the l&d nurses told me that a maternity belt wouldn't be a bad idea. Brody is VERY low. Feels like I'm rocking a very low beer gut! lmbo

I just got confirmation that i passed my GD test also....well i passed my three hour after failing my 1 hour test first!  Wow that was a miserable about 4 hours!  Anyhow, I just hit 30 weeks today so it should be much longer now till I get to see my little girls face and i'm just so excited about it.  My doctor said the only test that I had left now was a strep test?  I'm not even sure what that is or how they test for it.  Glad to know all of you are still doing well!  These babies should be here in no time.....but not TOO soon of course!

Had my dr's appointment today and my blood count was low, so I'm on iron pills twice a day.. also on antibiotics for a bladder infection. I only have today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow to finish those pills. They STINK! I don't like taking medicine as it is, but blah lol....be glad when I'm done taking so many pills. And I'm not measuring where I'm supposed to be after all this time of him measuring ahead... I'm tired lol.. Ready for my son to be here.

I had my testing GD testing yesterday, wasnt as bad as the other times I guess they are trying to improve that drink lolol! I am still dialated to a 2 and baby is also very active, the doc said I have to wear a prego belt b/c she is so low that she is preventing adequate blood flow and my blood pressure goes low whenever Im on my feet, and in the TX heat I feel like I will literally pass out! I found some online not too expensive but something I didnt want to spend, I couldve gotten more onesies lolol {like im not gonna buy more any way lol} anyhoo I feel pretty good those braxton hicks are a pain but nothing major though, sounds like everyone is doing well!!

I'm also still around!  Just had my diabetes test today and have my next appointment on Saturday morning.  (yeah, seriously on a Saturday!)  Can't believe I am in my third trimester!  Things are moving quickly ladies! :)  Starting to get more and more braxton hicks.  Nothing alarming, maybe one every few hours.  They don't last long and they don't hurt at all, just feeling my uterus hardening.  Maddie is a mover and a shaker for sure and is sitting really low. I don't seem to get the kicks in my ribs like I did with my other babies, but I get lots of bladder shots!!!  Hope all you ladies are doing great!

I've been having little cramps and tightening a lot lately. My next appointment is in 8 days so I'll try to hold out until then. Seems this heat is a bad idea lol... I try to stay hydrated but man do I feel horrible just out there for 10 minutes! My little man's heartbeat has been 136-140 and he moves a lot. I haven't felt him move today though. Course, I've been trying my best to sleep but can't seem to get there. ugh.. lol

Lol!! I don't usually get on here much because of work, but I'm off for the next two weeks so I have plenty of time on my hands!! I got put on temporary "rest" because my cervix is shortening already. I guess I was having contractions, but didn't know that's what they were, no pain, just tightening. I was just checked yesterday and my cervix is still closed, so more than likely I will be able to go back to work but be limited on the amount of time I'm on my feet. Other than that, the baby is doing great!! His heartbeat is in the 150's and he moves around all the time!!
