What's in your birth plan?

My doctor's office wanted me to put together a birth plan.  I've given birth before but it has been a long time so I couldn't really remember everything.  Several things I mentioned were that I don't want people counting to ten while I push and I don't want to have to rate my pain.  I really hated both those things!  Especially when I rated my pain and the nurse told me I was wrong!  Grr!!  Anyway, I mentioned that I'd like to be able to move around and that I'd like them not to offer pain meds unless I ask... I'm just wondering if anyone has anything else specific they included that I might have forgotten.  I don't want to limit myself - I don't want to say I want to labor/deliver in a certain position or I want only intermittent monitoring or only constant monitoring... I'm too indecisive to decide that until I'm in the moment!  lol  But I'm just trying to make sure I've thought through as much as possible.

Thanks! I agree things can change in the moment, so I didn't want to commit to firmly to anything unless it was something I knew I really wanted.

I also haven't created a birth plan and I have a private midwife (in Germany things run a bit differently). She was also my midwife with my daughter 2.5 years ago adn we didn't have a plan then. I ended up being induced and what I really wanted was to try a tub during the contractions but not during the pushing phase. I will do the same this time around. I also agree, things don't run according to plan and I didn't have constant monitoring, everything happened quite quickly too. I did decide from the beginning that I wanted a natural birth as well, no drugs and with an induction (and lack of sleep!!!!), I made it, hope this time it is natural too. Good luck, if you have a good midwife/nurse and supporting partner then I think that's important.

I haven't created a birth plan. My midwife knows I want to do things as natural as possible and I'm very against an induction unless really necessary. Beyond that I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment by creating a specific plan. Since I've never given birth I figure my feelings could completely change in the heat of the moment. Plus everything about birth seems so unpredictable!!
