Many times when one side of the body is unable to perform regular activities of daily living we may tend to overcompensate by asking the opposite side of the body to take on even more than usual. Is it possible that the dislocation on the right side is also contributing to your current pain level? The answer is yes that is possible, however, without a formal evaluation I cannot give you an accurate diagnosis. If you would like to see a physical therapist in your region for a formal evaluation I would be more than happy to locate one for you.

Thanks I returned to work this afternoon and ended up in agony with severe pain down the right hand side of my neck and shoulder do you think that could be from just not moving a lot for the past 6 weeks or could it be related to the other dislocated collar bone.
Thanks
Karen
Without a proper evaluation I cannot comment on the associated symptoms you are experiencing. I would recommend for the time being to contact your surgeon or whom ever is currently conducting your plan of care. I will say that physical therapy is indicated to avoid any further loss of function however will need to rule out any precautions as a result of your secondary symptoms by your physician.
