weight gain

My weight is very up and down with this pregnancy. With my daughter I gained a lot! Like 60 lbs. I know that's not healthy so I've been watching what I eat this time around. Here's how it goes I'm 24 weeks, at 3 mos I had gained 6lbs which my ob said was perfect weight gain. At 4mos I had lost 5lbs, 5mos gained 6lbs, 3 weeks later lost 4lbs. So has anybody else had this problem? I'm worried I'm not gaining like I should. Everything I read says 12 lbs by this point. Even the Dr I work for says my Dr should be more concerned he thinks. My stomach measures 25 weeks so he says he's not worried about. But I am. Is this normal? Has anybody else had this? I'm just worried for the health of the baby

I focus less on the weight gain and more on the nutrition, so I know I am getting everything the baby needs:

Don't worry, I am in the same situation:) I gained 60 lbs with my daughter, now with this baby I am 26 weeks and have only gained 15. Its been just like you, gaining and losing this whole time. My doctor is also unconcerned. She assured me that no two pregnancies are the same. As long as you are taking your vitamins and eating as healthy as you can everything will be fine. Trust your doctor. Its hard to do sometimes but if you have a good one, just put your faith in them. If something was really wrong they would be concerned. You are definitely not alone, it is so nice to have this forum to come to! Good luck:)

I have had the same problem. I am high risk for many reasons including being a diabetic. From the time i got pregnant until 4 months I lost 40 pounds! I've been up and down since then. I go to my high risk ob every week and my perinatologist every 2 weeks. I get ultrasounds every 2 weeks.  I've been worried sick about not gaining weight and losing weight! However my ob told me last Thursday ( i lost another pound) as long as I am eating and the baby is growing then try not to worry about the WEIGHT...ITS JUST NUMBERS!  Easier said than done I know! (Our babygirl is actually bigger than usual and I'm measuring 2 weeks further ahead than I should be.) My other pregnancies I gained between 30-50 pounds. I just wanted to let you know your not alone! I'm sorry anyone else is dealing with this as well but puts my mind to ease a little to know I am not alone. GOODLUCK LADIES!

I'm 24 weeks on July 4th I have gained only 6 pounds so far...my doctor isn't worried but of course I am...all 3 of my other pregnancies I gained at least 30-40 pounds. I hope I gain more with this baby...my belly isn't showing much I look like I'm 3 months along. I wouldn't stress to much sweetie...just keep talking to your doctor I wouldn't worry until your doctor does, I know that's hard to do.
