castor oil??? :O

Has anyone ever used castor oil to speed up labor or to dilate faster if so how did you take it an did it work.? :O I'm extremely curious about it. I asked my doc an she wasn't concerned about it an said ifI wanted to try it it wouldn't hurt my baby just give me cramps an make me have allot of bowl movements an all id have to do is stay hydrated. (not a problem since I only drink water an am always perfectly hydrated when I go to appointments) pleeasee let me know ladies!!  :-) thanks!

I didn't go into labor but it helped make my contractions stronger an helped me dilate from 1 to 2 an I'm thinned to 80% now.  I'll try it again in a few days an see if it sends me into labor

Since you are full term now you can try the castor oil. I had a good experience with it my DD but I used it on my due date I took 2 tbsp with chocolate ice cream at 10am she was born at 6:13p. Good luck

All that didn't help I've tryed it all!

None of those have worked. I've tryed them all sex, spicey foods, nipple stimulation, walking, bumpy car rides, relaxing... An Nothing!.. The only things I haven't done are Evening Primrose Oil & Castor Oil.. I'm 37 weeks 3 days. An everyone in my family + me an my hubby want her out now!!

I've tryed all that already. It doesnt work. Castor oil is, the only thing I haven't tryed.

Medical sites say it doesnt help. What they say may help is Walking, Sex, and Nipple Stimulation. Ive also read A Lot of good things about Red Raspberry Leaf tea.. not so much for inducing but it aids in the labor process by toning the uterus also helps with milk production. Nipple stimulation I think is said to work thebest.. but Im afraid to try it lol

I tryed it an threw up..... Now I'm the same as I was before. My doc says my baby can be born any time now but the pains are so bad I want her out now. Do u know of anything else I could do to help get her out..my cervix is soft an she's in position an everything she just won't budge...I'm having regular contractions every 20 mins or so since wednesday (its friday now) but no water brake yet... Please help she's now 6lbs perfectly developed an healthy just not coming out!  :-( driving me insane...

i took castor oil at about week 39, it didn't help at all!! i didn't even get the bowel movements.. i got a really bad pain on my right side, it was like 2 o'clock in the night, and i couldn't fall asleep, i was crying wwith that pain, so we went to hospital..some painkillers got rid of the pain, and it wasn't appendix, and my blood pressure was high so they made me stay the night in the hospital :(((( and i only puked 3 times..no bowel movement... don't take it :((( unless your willing to stay in the hospital for the  night :)
