Thanks Dinaxxxx!!! They did take it out with a needle and it still hasn't closed a week later. I can see the exactly needle hole and everything, pretty gross. But I still feel so lucky to have it since it's further proof I don't have IBC. I have another biopsy scheduled tomorrow since most of the doctors I have talked to haven't even heard of GM and don't know what it is, so if that comes back negative for cancer I'll have to diagnose myself. Some of these doctors have asked ME how to even treat GM.
I can't seem to find many pictures. Do you know where I could find them?
"Abscesses" or collections of pus-like fluid are part of GM. Generally, they are sterile, so not technically an abscess. It can be helpful to have the fluid aspirated by needle, but cutting (incision and drainage) makes things so much worse and the scar will likely continue to open and drain for a LONG time (I speak from experience - mine was cut in May of 2014 and it opens every 3-5 weeks and drains).
GM *****, but I am so happy that you do not have IBC!!!! Hang in there : )
