Reminds of years ago when I was in the tropics; got this ugly red condition on mine and almost immediately convinced myself I had herpes, which really scared me since I could think of no possible exposure. I went to see the local flight surgeon and he said: "Heck I don't know; lets go upstairs and see Charlie the dermdude". Charlie took a look and said one word: monilia. I said: "I shower every day and put on clean underwear so where did it come from?" He said: "Not anything you did; it just got started somehow". Antifungal cream for a few days and it was gone. Good luck.

Thank you for your response.  I do however have a couple of follow-up questions.  Although I have found several pictures of herpes, I cannot find pictures of fungal or yeast infections.  Would you please describe what this would usually look like?  Also, if it was just irritation, how long (on average) does this usually take to improve if I use Vaseline?  Thank you very much for your help.
