from time to time I have a lot of indegestion which causes chest pain. it is not everyday but almost. I have tried various foods and have found some foods that seem to make it worse like pizza orfoods with high grease but even when I avoid these foods I have indegestion. Somedays like today I have had chest pains all ay long and a lot of indegestion. the pain is in the middle to right side of my chest and also on my back and shoulder blade on the right side. It is not getting worse but has been there all day. I have had this before and it usually goes away after awhile.Do you have any sugestiong on what this may be?

It could be musculoskeletal but be sure to keep your doctor informed of any changes.

I've had a pain in my chest for about 3 weeks now.  I've had several ekg's done and also two echos, but they are always negative.  The pain is right above my right breast and there's also some swelling there.  I've taken several different medications, i.e., ibuprofen 600 and I am now taking naproxen 500 mg. to treat it.  Nothing seems to be working.  Most of the time it's a burning pain.  The pain also moves around from time to time.

Of course as a cardiologist the thing I worry about the most when I hear chest pain is the heart.  I would get this checked out to make sure it is not something more serious than indigestion.
