My water broke about an hour ago, Im not having any contractions though. Waiting for dr to call me back. Anyone who had water break first? How long before your contractions started?

My water broke with both of my first 2. With the first they started right away. With my second it took about 2-2 1/2 hours before they started. Best of luck! You'll do great :)

Yup it was my water at 4am... got to hospital around 7. They ran tests to check if it was really my water and finally checked my cervix around 11:30 am I was 3cm dilated and 100% effaced. Delivered Adelyn Rose at 8:32 pm last night. Had to get surgery after delivering.

^^^I had to get started on Pitocin too, to start labor!

My water broke and I didn't know, I was slowly leaking fluid, but thought it was just discharge. I went to the hospital last Monday with no contractions at all, just fluid and I had my baby boy on Tuesday! Doesn't matter if you're contracting or not, go in. The longer you wait, the more risk of infection.

Go right away.  You can't wait.  And they can't send you home.  Congrats!

My water broke and I went straight to hospital because they can't send you home after your water breaks.. baby can get infection. I wouldn't get past 1 cm and I wasn't having contractions so they put me on pitocin
