Choking on bubbly spit?

So my daughter is only a week old and a few times she's scared me; she will start squeaky/wheezing like she's choked up but there's no spit up. She's never spit up other then bubbly saliva.

Tonight I had her on her back on the couch as I put laundry in the drier when I heard her breathing change. I went to check on her and noticed white stuff under her nose & on her top lip, then she started choking.

I grabbed the bulbs and tried to clear her nose & throat but still she seemed like she was swallowing the spit up or mucus that was trying to come out.

It has me terrified, I've been holding her up right since, (as she's slept I've been researching) but I'm still afraid to put her down..... Any advice?

She might have reflux or something. Try not to have her completely flat when you lay her down and make sure she can move her head to each side too so she can expel from her mouth if she is sick. Babies will naturally turn their head to ensure sick comes out of their mouths. I keep my boy sitting in his car seat if I'm not holding him. I also have a cocoonababy for him to sleep in so he stays slightly upright in more of a foetal position while he sleeps. Might be worth bringing your little girl to the doctor to get her checked and to ease your worry.

I think a trip to the pediatrician is a good idea.

She did it again but on a bigger scale, her eyes bugged out, she flaied like a fish out of water and couldn't make a sound. Her daddy and I panicked and grabbed the bulbs and started clearing it out but we can't get this last bit from her nose.

A lot of white gunk came from her nose too

My daughter does the same thing, mostly after feedings because she eats very quick and she eats too much, so she spits up some. But that's all it is. She's always in something that leans her upright slightly too, so just try that. It seems to be a normal baby thing. Just wipe her mouth and use the blub when needed. I only use the blub for my daughter's nose and I let her spit out what comes out of her mouth.
