Hey there, I'm sorry I'm just seeing this. I'm a mom of a son who has a developmental delay and daily tasks have always been difficult for him as well. Especially personal grooming. For me, I worked to help my son get more comfortable doing things for himself. Things like buying things to make it easier like flushable wet wipes (sold where toilet paper is) help so that he can take care of the wiping well, showing him how hand over hand like how to shampoo his hair exactly and letting him work on it. He got better at everything. We got a water pick since he doesn't floss very well. We have a really good mouth wash on hand that he uses after brushing his teeth to help. Rotating tooth brushes help. I have done my best to show him how and he attempts and it doesn't go well some day, I may step in and help again but then he tries again the next. :>) You sound like you are doing great! Proud of your desire to take care of yourself, good for you!
