Daughter Due May 21st~First Baby :)

My daughter is 38 weeks pregnant with her first baby...my 1st grandbaby.  She is due May 21st, she is a tiny girl and is an average "pregnant" size.  Baby is -2, effaced 70%, cervix about 1/2 dialated, back pains and lots of Braxton Hicks.  She is SO ready for this baby to come out (me too).  I am affraid that if she goes much longer, the baby will be to big for a natural birth.  She is taken Evening Primrose (2 a day orally) just started, lots of walking, always on the go.  Any suggestions on getting this little one to make an appearance early?  I know in reality.....she will come when SHE is ready but anything we can do to speed her along..... :-)
Best of luck to all you May Mommies!

I'm past my due date too.  they did an ultrasound on me yesterday to check the fluid levels and since everything looks normal I just have to wait it out.  last monday I wasn't dilated at all so now I have  non stress test on Friday and if nothing happens by Monday they will schedule an induction.
So good luck to you and your daughter/grandbaby.  tell her that she isn't alone!

Thanks......Dr's appointment tomorow.  Hopefully she will be dialted a little more and maybe they can strip her membranes to get this party started!  I just can't wait.  I think I am more excited for this little grandbaby then I was for my own....or it has just been so long, I can't remember....hahahahahah.   Have a great day and best of luck to you and your new little bundle of joy.

I had heard a loooooot of 'old wives' remedies!! i myself, am due... hmmm TODAY! lol... well, somewhere between the 4th and today... and to be quite honest i've tried most of the stuff...
i was scared of taking or eating or drinking stuff... like castor oil (hear is not good for the baby since he could pass meconium!) so, what i'd say is keep it 'natural'... lots of walking, lots of drinking water... lots of sex.... lots of pampering.... lots of hot baths!... i think within 2 weeks she'll go no problem!
