actually i won't get to be the one to tell you how natural labor is... that's my one regret! this will be my 4th c-section. i was having labor w/ my 1st and didn't know it and had to have an emergency c-section so i can't even tell you how it was then either (except i guess painless since i didn't know it was happening!!!). so when everyone tells you how it was they have to tell me too!!! :)
Yep, i hear that Jen!!!! to be frank i was bricking it at the thaught of natural birth! Am so so glad i get let off so to speak!!! At the same time i feel like ive been cheated a tad as i dont get to know what a natural birth is like so yall better be letting me know how it was!!! :)
holy cow mimi!!! that's crazy!!! when my SIL was in labor her baby's head got stuck and they had to end up doing a c-section. they had to pull him back out of the birth canal and teh back of his head was really mushy for a while... it was really wierd! it felt like blood vessles or whatever it was i can't rememebr now. so in your case i definately say a c-section is the way to go... he is going to he a big baby!!!!!!! :)
Well you guys here is yet another update............... Was at the midwife yesterday and the little man has gone and done it again!! Last week i was measuring 39 weeks and yesterday i was measuring 41!!! Midwife thinks he has put on weight again!! So it looks like he will be heavier than the 9 and a half lbs that he was last week!! BUT on the upside due to the circumference of his head and shoulders its now gonna be a c-section for sure. Im actually rather pleased as i was beginning to worry that if i had a natural birth he would get stuck as im not very big built. I have to go for one more scan next week on friday and then will be taken in the week after for the c-section! Am excited and scared all at the same time but i know i will be in good hands so i will get over the initial fear!!!
Aww hope everything goes well congrats on your little girl, make sure you update us! We want pictures too!
Jennyb473 Hope all went well for you and give us an update when you can!!!!! And everyone els good luck and update when you can!!!
I have GD also and am 39w today - they estimated on Monday she was 8lbs. 6oz. but luckily I'm going in tomorrow night for the start of my induction! I really hope they are high on her weight though....I don't like the sound of a 9 pounder! I hope to find out Friday how big she really is!! I can't wait to meet her!!!!!!!!!
i have gestational diabetes too and at 35 weeks he was measuring 6lbs 6oz already and if they really gain half a pound a week he is probably 7lbs 6oz right now.....i didn't have GD either the first time around my daughter was 7lbs 8oz and she was OVER DUE!
I had appointment yesterday. I am 37 weeks. They are scheduling my induction on the 16. Exactly 1 week early. They are predicting a large baby here too. AT 34 weeks I had to have multiple ultrasounds because they thought my AF was too low. Turned out fine, but the first ultrasound they estimated 6lbs 12 oz. Second ultrasound they said 5lbs 3 oz. So, I am estimating at that point she was about 6lbs. Ultrasounds can be off a pound when estimating weight. So, baby may not be as big as they say. WHen I had my son 9 years ago I did not have gestational diabetes, I do this time, but he was still 9lbs 10oz and he was born on his due date.
GOOD LUCK everyone.
I have an appointment tomarrow and i am hoping to god that they will decide to induce me right away. I have had nothing but problems this time around and cant believe that things are just getting worse. Good luck and if i have a chance to update I will.
Thanks Jen!! Will update after next scan. And good luck with the c-section!! Hope all goes really well for you!!! xxx
Mimi
OMG!!!! i can't believe that!!!!!!! dude, that's gonna hurt, lol!!!!!! i've never even had an 8lb baby yet! (hopefully this time, though) so you'll go before your due date then, definately... maybe even before! good luck... and please update after your next scan. i should be in the hospital that day (that's my scheduled c-section date!) but i'll be looking for updates when i get home!
