Swollen feet; flank pain and weight gain

I orginally went to the doctor back in November of '07 because I felt as if i had a UTI, but it wasn't painful and i saw blood on my tissue.  Plus, I gained weight and had a significant stomach distention. They gave me Cipro, helped but something still wasn't right.  The results came back and it wasn't a UTI.  I was referred to a urologist where I had another urinanaylsis done and an ultrasound and eventually and cystocopy done, but all test came back normal.  He gave me Bactrim for the blood in my urine; it made me feel better, but not all the way right.  The urologists seems to think I'm imaging things, but one knows when their body isn't acting properly.  My primary care doctor said it could be GYN related.  I had a PAP done and a colposcopy done because the PAP came back with LSIL.  No cancerous cells found.  I just found out that I am lactose intolerant and since then I've switched over to a strict lactose free, gluten free diet.  My stomach distention has decreased, but I'm still carrying this weight.  Now, I'm beggining to get swelling in my feet, flank pain in the morning and man, my breasts are another cup size.  Please, these doctors seem to think i'm stressing over something that is nothing.  I hate feeling crazy.  Any idea of what could be the problem?

Have you had your thyroid levels checked? This could be a low level of thyroid hormones. Also you may need a imaging study of your head/brain to rule out any abnormalities.

No.  Funny you should say that.   I was contemplating get my thyroids checked because I remember years ago a doctor told me i had an overactive thyroid, and it does run through my family.  So, I guess I can give that a go.  However, I find that if I go through a day without any lactose induced products and foods, I feel fantastic.  Could be that I'm SEVERELY lactose-intolerant.  Thank you...
