No Metformin is not for high prolactin level but for impaird glucose tolerance or hyperinsulinemia. You probably had your pituitary gland imaged with an MRI.
Dostinex would help your hyperprolactinemia but would not necesarrily help you ovulate. You may have to take ovulation induction drugs like Clomiphene or injectable FSH like Bravelle to make an egg to ovulate. I presume that you are seeing a specialist in fertility called a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist. If not, I suggest that you make an appointment.
FSH is purified or recombinant follicle stimulating hormone. This is given to patient with PCOS to induce ovulation. It is given by injection. Brand names are Bravelle, Gonal F, Follistim. Since you are on Dostinex, you do not need Bromocriptine.
Thank you for responding! Yes, My husband and I have seen a Infertility specialist, but he didn't give us much of an option. The specialist gave us some information about possibly going thru IVF. Surely, I thought to myself that there's got to be more option than going through IVF? What is FSH? I never heard of that? My last question would be should I consider taking bromocriptine again?
