Going to Induce the 29th at midnight

So i just came back from my 39 wk check up and im still 2 cm 75% effaced and lost my mucous plug this morning. Doc has scheduled for induction on the 29th (which is 5 days over due) if i dont go into labor before then. Im having alot of people telling me that when you loose your mocous plug it should happen in the next 24 hrs. But i really dont believe that but it did happen to my sister but she was dilated to a 4 when she lost hers. I wish i could find a way to have her before christmas though. But i guess i have to wait and see right.

I guess sometimes it just doesnt work.  I was/am having contractions that are like 1-3 mins apart so that is why they tried to induce me seeing that i was having contractions like that.  I just dont feel them, i only know im having them because they are on the monitor.  So now im a week over due and still no baby, i guess i will just have to be induced again on tuesday...which i dont want to do, but hes not coming here on his own so i guess they will just make him come out.

thats horrible did they say why the induce didnt work?
I was induced with my first at 530 in the morning and my water broke at 545am and i had him by 3pm and i wasnt even dilated or anything when they started. I hope that this one goes the same way maybe faster since im dilating. But for the past couple days i have been having contractions about 7 to 8 mins apart that last for an hour or 2 but then they stop for a few hours and do it again so maybe she will come on my due date which is christmas eve.

I lost my plug a long time ago and now im 6 days overdue and nothing is happening.  Was induced once and it didnt work so now im waiting until he comes here on his own or they are going to induce me again on the 23rd.  Im also only 2 cm dilated.

I'll tell you what worked for me and my doctor is the one that told me to do this (this was 15 years ago though).  You need to get in your bath tub and fill the tub with the water as hot as you can stand it, not too too hot.  Lay in the tub and place a wash cloth over your breast and insert that breast into the water, while still in the water stimulate your nipple for 15 minutes then switch to the other breast and do it 15 minutes on each side for 1 solid hour.  So it would be 15 minutes of the left, 15 minutes on the right and then back to the left and then right again.  Your body hold poticine (sp?) which is realsed from your own breast.  It worked for me, but your contractions will be much more painful.  Try it and see if it works for you, it did for me.  Good Luck!
