I have Medallary sppnge kidneys but also have the symptoms of IC  I have had 4 cystoscopys in the past due to kidney stone retrieval but all have been negative for IC.  Do you have any suggestions?

HI I have IC and MSK, (Medullary Sponge Kidney Disease) actually I have met quite a few people with both conditions.  If you would like to pm me I would be glad to talk with you about the differences in the symptoms, since at first this was very confusing to me as well. Now I know enough to know which symptoms cause what etc.

We also have an MSK board on medhelp.  If your not a member I would encourage you to come and join us, again there a several of us with both.

Hi,
You didn't give me your symptoms so I'm now sure whether you have IC or some other problem with similar symptoms. Its unclear whether they did a hydrodistention at the time of the cystoscopy to possibly see the bladder lining changes of IC.  I don't have enough detail here to give you my impression.  You need to see a doctor that specializes in IC and get a correct diagnosis.  That is the first step in getting the right treatment.  Good Luck
