New to this Community: Q re: finding a doc

Hello:

I'm new to the ADD/ADHD community on MedHelp but was diagnosed a few years ago.  After trying various meds, I found Focalin to be helpful but used it very sparingly.  I have not used the meds in over a year but want to try it again.  My doc is retiring and I've run into several roadblocks looking for a new doc in the Chicagoland area who will prescribe meds to adults.  My general practitioner never prescribed Focalin and refuses to do so as he sd he doesn't know enough about it.  I've searched the CHADD professionals website with no luck.  Any ideas where I could find an MD or psychiatrist who is willing to prescribe meds?

Thanks.
