I forgot one thing- there are 4 in each breast. Thanks again.
I am 20 years old and white. My gynecologist found abnormal masses and lumps in my breast and referred me to the radiologist for an ultrasound. Fibrocystic breast disease runs in my family. I assumed that's all it was. The radiologist found 8 fibroadenomas. 3 of the tumors are 3 cm in diameter. I know that they are benign tumors. My issue is not that. I was referred to a breast surgeon specialist. My appointment is soon and I will be having another ultrasound and biopsy done. If the biopsy shows benign, as the ultrasound, what are my options. My surgeon will tell me, I know. However, I would like other opinions. I am a small, very petite girl. My bra size is a 34 B. Should I really have them removed? Would monitoring be better for me? My issue is that if all 8 of these tumors are removed, will I even have any breast tissue anymore? Thank you for your time.
There is no direct cause for this problem. The only definitive treatment is surgical removal. There is no food that will stop it, or make it better. Some recommend caffiene free diets for people who have fibrocystic disease, not related to fibroadenomas.
