You need to make sure that this is not an indication of something more serious. Ice craving is often a symptom of anemia or low blood count. Please go to your doctor and make sure that your tests are ok.
Ice is just a sign that you are lacking in either iron or another key vitamin in your diet. I love chewing ice as well!
I have wanted an answer to this for a long time now also, I have been going through a 5lb bag of ice every 2 days and when I run out I get severe anxiety, its almost like a drug craving.I also find that in stressful situations I crave it more.Im 9 weeks pregnant and worried that this is a sign that my bodys lacking something the baby needs.
My mom had that same thing when she was pregnant with me. She craved ice and just chewed it. I turned out just fine! So I would say that it isn't normal.
Hi, I thought I was the only one who had this problem. I've had 6 children, and craved I've with every single one. I would chew over one hundred pieces of Ice everyday. I loved the way it tasted and as it would start to melt I would suck the water out the ice and chew the rest, and it was the ice bordering on melting that I was addicted to. I had nothing wrong with all my pregnancies, I just craved ice.
My mum knew a lady who craved roar sausages while pregnant, as her child grew up, she too would eat roar sausages. Well guess what, my children too love chewing ice especially my daughter since she was 2, now she is 6. I think it's a great craving to have while pregnant, very healthy.
I would go out and have cravings for ice so bad, that I would have to come back home again and go strait to the freezer because my craving was so intense. It's all I could think about and could not function or be content without having my ice from morning till noon.
