Alcohol and Heart Palpitations

Can drinking heavily for a few days give me heart palpitations and sweating? I only really experience it when I stand up or do a strenuous activity. I also have bad anxiety. I never seem to experience it until I started drinking again for like a week or so.

The doctor is a good idea. Heart palpitations can be caused by:
•Anemia
•Anxiety, stress, fear
•Caffeine
•Certain medications, including those used to treat thyroid disease, asthma, high blood pressure, or heart problems
•Cocaine
•Diet pills
•Exercise
•Fever
•Hyperventilation
•Low levels of oxygen in your blood
•Heart valve disease, including mitral valve prolapse
•Nicotine
•Overactive thyroid

Yes it can and it does......Have you maybe thought about not drinking anymore?  I would recommend making a trip into the doctor also.
