Quit drinking problems

Hi all,

Used to drink every night, a lot of drink. I started getting pain under my right rib which i guess is my liver and it scared me enough to quit drinking.

I am 3 days of the drink still getting slight pain under right rib but i now have one under the left rib and lower right back pain was extremely sore yesterday.

Is this normal withdrawals? i have an appointment for blood tests on the 18th of this month and i am 29 years old. Thanks in advance for the help.

I just hope i have done no lasting damage and i will definitely learn from this warning but with the pains i am not sure sure.

Hi dear,

Can you please explain how you exactly feel when you discover you have pain in your rib? Maybe, it can be an issue with your liver. But I think you must make sure what happens. One good thing you can do is either continue your drinking free life or just put an end to it almost immediately.

No that's not withdrawal. It's good your going to the doctor. Be honest with the Dr. About your drinking.  When I had those pains it was kidney stones. Drinking dehydrates you, that can cause kidney stones.  But it could be a hundred other things too. Just stay away from alcohol for good. Your doctor will figure it out. Good luck.

im not sure ether but ill bet someone will come along and give you a better idea. obviously you wont know for sure till u go to the dr.  but i used to get those pains too.   i can remember a few times in my twenties that would happen and i would get scared and quit drinking.   if you quit now you wont lose anything good or that you care about.  you will feel a whole lot better as the days go by without alcohol.  your liver will repair itself. i just quit myself and this forum is really helpful there are a lot of good people on here to support you. i wish you all the best.
