help with de-addiction

Hello, my husband(33 yrs old) has been taking beer since last 5-6 years everyday. Initially it used to be almost 750 ml everyday but it has increased to 1l-2l now. I am very sick of it now. In between he also started taking vodka everyday. Though he has stopped taking it now but his habit of taking beer is making him sick now. He also has very bad eating habits. He hardly has breakfast in morning. He will have his first meal of the day not before 2pm and has dinner after 11pm only. His appetite has decreased alot in a year now. This addiction is also hampering our married life as I get very stressed. He is a software professional and has a very sharp brain but I'm afraid that he is losing it all now. We have a one n half year old son. I feel very insecured because of all this. Please help.......

i love the singer Sia..did u take your name from her?Yes get urself to Al-Anon...several meetings....and listen to the others...you will hear so much u can relate 2!

Talking to him seems very difficult so I'll leave rest to God!!

Hi Sia, Ray's right, you can't get him sober, he's going to have to want it himself. But you can go to AlAnon, and lean on others who are in similar situations, and do understand. Your other priority is to make sure your child is in a safe environment. You and your son's welfare is mandatory, so keep safe. God bless and seek out a local Al-Anon meeting.

Well, I keep trying but all in vain!! My married life has already suffered alot due to many reasons of which this is one!! Hope atleast his gets solved so that its easier to deal with other problems....

THAT is not an option. You cant force him into doing something  against his will and it would not work because his attitude needs to change and there is no drug that will do this. It is time for some tough talking, if he is not willing to listen then you will need to think about getting selfish yourself.....

I keep doing that all the time. He hardly seems to understand. He'll make up his mind one day and the other day he's the same person again. I feel he has become very selfish and hardly thinks of us. Its ruining our lives. I feel alcohol makes people lose their morals too.....
high time!!
I wish I knew some medicine and fed him quietly through food and all because I dont see him going to the doctor by himself in the near future. Im afraid before it gets too late.....

You need to think of your child and yourself first. Your husband needs to understand he has a problem and needs help, only he can do this. Explain how you feel to him and get help for yourself, go to Alanon....
