how do you know if stopping can cause sezrues or dts?

Want to stop and do not know if I need medical detox or can do it by stopiing drinking.  I can not really afford the hospital detaox.

Hi chichi,

Like B Mamma say's it is so hard to tell. Each one is different. I always suggest you never do it alone. That does not mean you need to check in to detox. It does mean a family member or  friend should be close to you for the first week of detox So stay with family or a friend, or make sure someone reliable is checking on you hourly. Hopefully you will just have some nasty withdrawal symptom's. That is to be expected.

Hat's off to you for making this decision. You will never be sorry you did. There is a good sober life out there waiting for you.

It really just depends on how much your drinking, unless you have some underlying condition that predisposes you to seizures. What is your consumption like?
