i was aheavy drinker. i am 63 ex seaman and all that. got ill.drank heavely sometimes alone . hav'nt had a drink for eight months. now i feel great wandering if i should try. and if the worst happens. then ill know for definate and stop again   and be assured. its the first time ive abstained in all those years       chrismill

Please follow the advice in the above two posts and stay away from alcohol. It will have detrimental results..

I can assure you that starting this insanity again will only take you down in a big way.  Why not continue on the path you are, you are feeling great so keep it going!!  Being sober for 8 months is wonderful!!  Do you have any type of recovery care?  Take up a hobby or volunteer your time to something that is important to you.....just dont take that drink.......sara
