Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are suggestive of recurrent Conjunctivitis. It is one of the most common eye complaints.
The various causes of conjunctivitis are Bacterial, Viral, Allergic conjunctivitis, Noninfectious, nonallergic conjunctivitis and Chlamydial infections.
It is important to rule out the cause of the eye condition. Bacterial conjunctivitis will usually have purulent discharge and can be diagnosed by gram staining. As for viral conjunctivitis are concerned, adenovirus is the commonest virus to be involved. A rapid (10 minute) test for adenoviral conjunctivitis is now available. Both bacterial and viral are self limiting. Allergic conjunctivitis can also be a possible cause in your case which seen due to exposure to allergen like dust, pollen etc.
Suspected bacterial conjunctivitis needs a appropriate antibitoic drops. Other types of conjunctivitis can be managed by OTC antihistamine and decongestant eye drops.
I suggest you to consult ophthalmologist for re assessment. Your condition will resolve over a time. Take acre and regards.
This is something for an opthamologist to answer, based on an in-person evaluation.
I would hesitate to "Monday morning quarterback".
There are virus infections and retro-viral infections. It is difficult to differentiate between the various infectious organisms.
High vitamin C (to bowel tolerance) and Vitamin D3 (to 5000 IU a day, or alternatively sunlight exposure to the skin for 45 minutes) have been demonstrated to help to eliminate viral infections.
The best of luck.
