allergy

I just like to ask, can an allergy cause your body to ache like the flu?

i woke up the other day, my eyes were so tired, watering, and by the end of the day, my head was so tired, eyes still sore, throat stinging, back of nose stinging sensation, byt the time i went to bed, i ached all over, i was like that for 3 days, runny nose, but no yukky stuff from nose, justclear thick stuff, my throat is still a bit itchy and dry......could this be an allergy?..and can allergies cause your body too ache all over.
regards carole

Hi
Now that I have more information, I can probably tell you some more. Irregular cycles, polycystic ovaries, insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance all play a role in aggravating existing allergies during a particular time of the menstrual cycle. Please consult your gynecologist and probably an allergy specialist too.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Thank you for  replying, much appreciated.

I  always seem to get it before, or after my period, so maybe   could it be that my immune system is very low because of hormonal change?...but it isnt every month, but almost most.

i have had this for years, very strange

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Yes, allergies can cause your body to ache. However in your case, entirely depending on the symptoms explained by you, it looks more like viral fever. It could be a bacterial infection too. You would need anti allergics, anti-inflammatories like ibupfofen or acetaminophen, plenty of hot fluids, and multivitamins for 2-3 days along with rest.  Do consult your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
