Choking Immediately After Licking Fork

After putting my fork into an AsianDumpling dipping sauce to taste it, had immediate choking sensation and felt like my throat closed up - for about 3 minutes.  Any suggestions to what it was that caused this, so I can know what not to eat again?

Hello,

Your symptoms could be due to food allergy. You will have to observe which food, on consumption is causing this problem. Maintaining a food dairy may help. This may help to narrow down the elements. The diagnosis of allergy is difficult to prove or refute. Clinical suspicion and trial of elimination diets are used. An allergy specialist might be able to help you.

Take Care and Hope this helps!

It's almost impossible to know, especially without knowing the exact ingredients in the sauce.  However, with the severity of yoru reaction with such a small amount, I definitely would NOT use that sauce again.

Have you ever had any reactions to any other Asian foods or any otehr foods in general?
