Anxiety?

I have always been a type of person who get anxious and nervous.  I hate that about myself.  Recently I have been having a pain in my testicle and groin area.  Well I started thinking it was something really bad.  I started to have serious anxiety and all of my desires to work and do other things has gone  because I am so focused on every single pain or thing I feel.  The doctor told me it could be epididytimis and gave me some medication which I have since taken and finished.  He assured me there is no infection because he ran other tests as well.  I wonder if just the over worry and anxiety is what is making me feel these things and minor pains in the groin and testicle area.  It looks fine.  I was on lexapro, but my phsychiatrist made me just go up to a higher dosage.  He also gave me some anxiety calming meds.  they seem to help but just for a few hours.  Why do I always let my mind take off and assume the worst.  I hate being like this.

That´s true, very exhausting :( but there´s something that helps me: I try to keep myself busy, with work, hobbies or anything, even an interesting program on tv can help me to get the irrational thoughts out of my head. When you´re doing something that needs concentration you won´t have so much time to think. People like you and me just think way too much....

Hey there
Unfortunately human mind is so powerfull and stress + other psychological factors can cause physical pain, even if it seems unbelievable. That has happened to me too, I suffer from all kinds of physical symptoms and been tested thousands of times but no medical reason, just my crazy head.  Try not to listen to your head, just think about the real facts and what the doctor has told you.
