Should I lower dosage temporarily

I was on Zoloft 50 mg when I took it a few years ago for anxiety. Starting it back up because I felt low again and then something happened which sent me over again as far as anxiety.  Dr started on 50 since that was what I'd used successfully before. I remember it being hard last time adjusting---severe depressed moments and feeling so down and things def got worse before better. Mornings are terrible. I've seen where some people start out lower dose. Anyone suggest I go to 25 for a few days?? Or ask about that? Last time it did seem like it was two weeks before the cloud lifted and I'm one week in. The other idea i had was taking 25 in morning 25  in afternoon. Please help.

It's definitely reasonable (and logical) that if you're having trouble adjusting and experiencing bothersome side effects, to start lower and slowly work your way up.  It's actually a fairly common phenomenon that people who once tolerated a med pretty well have a lot more difficulty the second time (or third, etc)  around.  Give your doc a call and make sure it's okay, I'm sure it won't be an issue.

I did not know I was marking best answer there. On my phone and its kinda hard to see what I'm doing. At any rate, wanted to ask, for most people are these kinds of reactions for the adjustment period (that i described) what most people put up with? Thanks for your help.
