Kudos to you!!!! =)
You should be so excited!
You took the first step which is so awesome!
You ARE going to get better!
Beating anxiety isn't about popping a pill, it's a process... and taking some meds may be part of your process, and that's okay!!! =) You are going to do great~! I know it! =)
Keep us updated!
Thanks for your response!! I am going to be very patient with this and I know I need to be very honest with my doctor because thats the only way im going to get the help i need. As for my history, id rather not mention anything about it only to a therapist maybe....ive been through alot...throughout my childhood and it all creeped up on me in the form of severe anxiety ...all within the last 5years and just wont seem to go away. Thank you for your words of wisdom...i will not expect a miracle drug ..although that would be nice....i know it will take time. I sure hope time goes extremely fast!
Namaste,
I congratulate you on taking that first step, which is the most difficult and I;m glad that you apparently have a supportive person(your boyfriend) who you can turn to in time(s) of crisis.
I don't know what the doctor said to you or whether he as a GP or a psychiatrist, since each will see you differently. Regardless of that, I don't want you to get your hopes up too high so that you expect that a medication or two is going to resolve whichever issue(s) you are dealing with, since you weren't very open about your history.
It may take several attempts with various medications and/or combination of medications, plus the possibility of adjunct therapy to control your symptoms.
Since you've been dealing with your demons for 5 1/2 years already, a few more months shouldn't be too much to ask.
Just be completely honest with your doctors about your history, your drug and alcohol use or abuse, any suicidal thoughts you are having or may have had and what you feel would be an appropriate means of treatment. Yes, you do get a say in what happens to you.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck and let us know how you're doing.
