i have twice a yr ago but i didnt know what it was at the time and it wasnt this bad and it never bothered me since, actually i went through an abortion the same day they gave me the shot, 1 or 2 weeks before this started. my grandmother told me that theres been a few incidents with anxiety but not to many in my family and im not sure on my dads side. and i never thought to think of it until today and it does make sence.
I read somewhere that birth control can affect your anxiety. Along with caffeine and others, I'm sure.
What birth control does is alter your hormones so your body believes its pregnant without it actually being pregnant. I experienced a miscarriage last year and it wasn't untill I began getting my period again that the anxiety and panic attacks really broke through without any major stress at that time. I thought I had handled the miscarriage rather well considering. I recently saw and endocrinologist (hormone specialist) and she told me that anxiety can interact with you hormones. It doesn't mean that they are imbalanced, but maybe the change is what set off your anxiety and your body hasn't had enough time to adjust.
It would be a good thing to research or ask your doctor about. I would also assume that it is a stronger birth control in a way because, unlike the pill, it stops your menstrual cycle completely until you come off of it. And even then your period will not be normal for a little while.
Does anxiety run in your family?
Or have you experienced anxiety before this particular incident?
