Are you seeing a doctor or a psychiatrist? The latter is for these types of meds, not a regular doctor. And if your meds aren't working, maybe you need different ones, but meds seldom eliminate anxiety, that's done with the help of meds by seeing a therapist. Meds just treat symptoms, not the illness. Adding abilify seems overkill, and if the Zoloft is working, it should work better over time -- two months isn't a lot of time. Add a therapist, not another med, especially not abilify.
I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery)
Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch.
Bad idea I think.
What would be a better idea would be to increase that Zoloft dosage to 150 a day, then maybe even 200 a day (don't worry I know people on 250 a day and Zoloft is safe at that dosage) Then I would add Deplin which will help the Zoloft work better.
Deplin a simply a very concentrated form of Folic Acid (really just a vitamin) that helps antidepressants like Zoloft work better. (keep in mind Deplin is only avalible with perscription)
That's not a radical change and if it failes to help, then at least your not having to stop Abilify when it failes to work.
If your going to add any medication then use Lamictal rather than Abilify.
I used Lamictal with my antidepressant and it seems to help a lot.
