Hi Jim...........since it sounds like your doc is titrating you up to the dose he wants you on, 150mg, (225mg qd being the max dose) at a slow and steady rate, I can find nothing that would indicate any difficulty with balance or coordination. The only caveat I could find dealt with the CNS (Central Nervous System) and that was for vertigo. This is a very common side effect with many meds, including the Effexor XR and should pass as your body adjusts to the med. If it persists, you naturally need to let your doctor know. If you have not had any problems with dizziness up to this point, it's my guess you won't, even as you continue to titrate. There was a mention of a decrease in appetite, but again, I will assume you would notify your doc if this became a real problem. I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist, so if you have further questions I urge you to seek the advice of one trained in the medical arts. I am training in the art of cutting and pasting at the moment.
Good luck, Grasshopper!

Thanks so much! That was helpful & funny at the same time!
All the best

Please everyone listen. I was put on Effexor (75mg 1 a day)for PPD for about a year when I weaned myself slowly off over six months. Out of nowhere came the most severe anxiety and agoraphobia and vertigo that I wouldnt wish on my worst enemies. My cousin was on it for a month and started to freak out. She didnt bath, change clothes, or even brush her hair.(she is one that was big on her looks) This pill has a very short half-life , which most doctors omit. And it also has severe withdrawl syndrome. I only hope I can recover from its effects. I am not alone though. There are currently over 17,000 others like me ( as viewed from a petition) Knowing what I know now, I would have chosen quitting smoking cold turkey after 10 years then have stopped this drug. But had I known.....i wouldnt have taken it in the first place.
Thanks for the info on Effexor. I already suffer from agoraphobia and heard that effexor could help this condition. For now, I will stay away from the SSRIs.
