Are Brain Tumors Herriditary?

I'm almost 34 and My Bio Father was dignosed with a brain tumor at 38, he killed himself before he died of the brain Tumor....so my question is, should I have a brain scan to check for one..If I get a headache I get really scared and worried I have one. How likely would it be for me to get one at the same age? Thanks

Well apparently I spoke too soon.  There are a few, very RARE, brain tumors that are hereditary but MOST are not.  The rare hereditary brain tumors tend to accompany various syndromes which have a raft of other tell-tale symptoms (which are inherited).

If you are at all worried, talk to your doctor about this.  Getting a brain scan might be useful to put your mind at ease (but I doubt it would be indicated in your case).
