The hospital told you that you were "paranoid?" How very odd. Did they say of what?
While your symptom is not a "classic" one for anxiety/panic, doesn't mean that's not what's causing it.
The fact that you say you "freaked out thinking you were going to die," now THAT is classic.
I'd urge you to speak with your doctor about your symptoms and once anything organic is ruled out, if you are left with only anxiety on the table, then that is what you need to address. We already know from the brain scan that there is nothing of concern there, but anxiety CAN be a symptom of numerous other things that need to be ruled out.
Please see your doc for a check up and if it's anxiety, then you've found the best place to be.
I wish you luck.
Peace

While this COULD be a symptom of anxiety, you make no mention of any of the other classic symptoms of this disorder. That you have been experiencing this for 10 months and have not, as yet, seen a doctor, somewhat mystifies me.
If you'd like to find out what is going on, there is only one person who is going to be able to give you that answer and it's your doctor.
Please see him as soon as possible.
Let us know how you're doing, OK?
Peace
