Hello and welcome!
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time.
Have you had panic attacks before, or was this your first? Have you ever been evaluated for anxiety problems, or been treated for anxiety, or depression? How old are you? Were you doing anything before the panic attack, like drinking, drugs? Any medical history, or any medications you take on a daily basis? Anything major going on in your life?
If you could share some more info, that would be great, we can give you some more specific info once we kind of have a better picture of your history. The above poster gave some great advice. Honestly, the very best thing to do in the middle of a PA is to ride it out...try not to focus on the sensations too much, and just reassure yourself that it will pass, and while the sensations are scary, they will not hurt you in any way. After a panic attack subsides, the best thing to do is to stay busy and try very hard not to think about it too much. Unfortunately, when we do that, it puts us at risk for more...kind of a conditioning in a sense.
Looking forward to hearing more about you! Know that you're not alone..so many people suffer with panic attacks, there IS help out there!
Hi.. Alls I can say is that it will pass. I hope you are ok and just know that you are not alone. I have attacks mostley at night now and I have to keep telling myself Im ok and it will pass. I try to watch tv or something to take my mind off of it. I hope all goes well.
